How our stations have changed! These paintings capture the stations as they are during 2010 to present day.
Some have changed even whilst I have been painting them.
When you look at these paintings you will probably think what on earth has he painted these for, their history has gone.
There are lots of books showing them in their prime and it would have been a delight to have painted them.
The Rhymney Valley has to be grateful having kept this line while other valleys have lost theirs though this is quietly changing.
All 17 railway stations are finished and shown below, but in late 2013 another station was constructed making it 18, this is Energlyn and Churchill Park.
Also in 2013, Tirphil railway station had a new South bound track and platform constructed, the new painting can be seen by clicking on the Tirphill station below.
Ystrad Mynach station underwent changes in 2014/15 - click on the station below.
16th July 2012 : BBC news anounces that the Great Western Line between Swansea and London will be electrified along with the South Wales Valleys - good news for Wales.
Gosh! Will I have to paint all these stations again - we shall have to wait and see, plus who is going to pay for these changes ?
