Painting of Tirphil railway station

Here we are with the Cardiff bound train arriving at the single line Tirphil station. A darkish view due to the mass of trees on the left - this was the scene on the day I was there. Notice the old right hand platform is just visible amongst the bushes.
The painting below shows the new down-line track and platform laid during 2013 - this was laid to cater for the improved timetable. The painting shows the improvements - though there seems work to be done - but it's simply going back to the former steam train days. Amazing really, when you think this valley also had a train service running not too far away to our right which covered the other side of the valley.
Notice the mass of tree on the left have been cut down making this painting much lighter.
