Steam train crossing over Hengoed to Maesycwmmer Viaduct

This small oil sketch (300x170mm) is an historic scene - early 1960's - and the location is along Victoria Road, leading into Maesycwmmer, The lower steam train has just left Maesycwmmer station having travelled up from Newport and is destined for Brecon. The train on the viaduct has just left Hengoed High Level station on the right and is heading for Pontllanfraith then on to Pontypool Road station.
It is worth mentioning that today, the lower line is completely overgrown with trees though the general area is as seen in the painting. The painting simply shows steam trains from days long gone.
