This watercolour painting shows the Taff Vale Railway Viaducts in Pontypridd, South Wales.
The viaducts are the work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel
where the original single skewed arch of around 1841 can be seen in front of
the later viaduct of around 1861 which has two spans and river pier. The Rhondda river is to the
left of Mill street and is visible between the small arch. The train, coming down from Merthyr Tydfil is due to
arrive in Pontypridd Railway station which is a short distance to the left. Rhondda Road is seen to the right of Mill Street as is the huge car park.
