This painting shows Barry Island beach, South Wales. Barry and
Porthcawl
were the main destinations for us in the 50's and 60's, Just a few times a year, our family would catch the train
from Hengoed station direct to Barry Island, that was our holiday then. Porthcawl was always by bus, usually a school trip or a day trip via a local bus company.
