Cwm Bargoed coal train
passing through Ystrad Mynach

This oil painting shows EWS 66066 with around 21 coal wagons approaching the junction to the main Valley line railway at Ystrad Mynach. The dis-used single line from Ystrad Mynach to Cwm Bargoed re-opened to transport coal to Aberthaw power station. The Valley Line train seen at the station arrived from Cardiff and at this time (around 2pm) terminates here and returns South to the City.
